Last week, USC’s 141st commencement drew more than 85,000 graduates and guests to the University Park Campus. We thank everyone for adhering to the security and perimeter protocols that helped us ensure a successful and memorable celebration for our graduates, their families, friends, and loved ones.
If you are accessing the University Park Campus (UPC) this week, please carefully read the following guidance. If you are not sure whether you need to access campus or off-campus commencement events during the commencement period, please check in with your supervisor or department leadership, prior to May 9.
I am writing to let you know that early this morning DPS, with the assistance of the LAPD, removed the occupiers who had rebuilt their illegal encampment in Alumni Park. The operation was peaceful. Campus is opening, students are returning to prepare for finals, and commencement set-up is in full swing.
Dear Trojan Family,
I’m writing to let you know the steps we’re taking now to ensure students finish their finals in a quiet, safe academic environment – and that our graduating students can enjoy peaceful and joyous commencement ceremonies worthy of their accomplishments.
Please join us with your family and loved ones next Thursday to celebrate your accomplishments in a big way – and come together as a Trojan Family. Count on drone shows, fireworks, surprise performances, the Trojan Marching Band, and a special gift just for the Class of 2024.
Across the University Park Campus, there is a flurry of activity as teams work around the clock to prepare for over 100 Commencement ceremonies, celebrations, and receptions, which begin on May 8.
I’m writing to give you an update.
