I’m writing to update you about new security protocols that will permit more convenient entry to our University Park Campus by students, faculty, staff, and community members, effective today.

Today I’m writing to explain some difficult actions that need to be taken to address USC’s structural deficit in our volatile external environment. Although these actions will be painful, I am confident they will position USC for further success as a great research university, and a magnet for many of the best students and faculty in the world.
Research is fundamental to USC’s mission. Our researchers are developing groundbreaking treatments for diseases such as Alzheimer’s, blindness, and cancer; generating innovative technologies that improve lives; and expanding the frontiers of human knowledge and understanding.
