We have been monitoring the impacts of Tropical Storm Hilary very closely, and fortunately, have had only isolated flooding at our campuses that won’t impact classes. As a result, we will continue to operate normally, and classes for the fall semester will begin on Monday, August 21 as planned.
With reports about Hurricane Hilary expected to arrive in the Los Angeles area this weekend, I wanted to assure you that the university has plans in place to respond to emergencies, including ones related to weather.

It is my pleasure to announce the appointment of Joel Curran as USC’s senior vice president and chief communications officer. Effective July 10, Joel will lead all of USC’s central communications and events functions.
