Re: Update to Respiratory Season Vaccines (Flu and COVID-19)

Fr: Sarah Van Orman, MD MMM FACHA; Vice President and Chief Campus Health Officer of USC; Division Chief for College Health, Keck School of Medicine of USC

Following up to the previous campus message on September 28 regarding the recommendations for the flu and COVID-19 vaccines, we are sharing this update on coverage for the 2023 COVID-19 vaccine for employees.

UPDATE: Beginning today, USC Health Plans is sponsoring 2023 COVID-19 vaccinations at no cost for all USC faculty and staff (on all health plans) at the USC Pharmacies (walk-ins only). Please note, immunizations at USC Pharmacy locations are subject to availability. It’s best to call your desired location first to ensure the vaccine is in stock.

For Keck Medicine of USC employees, please refer to instructions issued by email on October 12 (“Update on Mandatory COVID-19 Vaccines for Health Care Personnel” from Covid-19-Updates@med.usc.edu) for uploading documentation in compliance with the Health Officer Order on required influenza and COVID-19 vaccination. The deadline for compliance is November 1, 2023.

For all individuals, getting seasonal flu and COVID-19 vaccines is one of the best ways to protect yourself, your family, and our community during respiratory virus season, which runs from November 1, 2023 through April 30, 2024.
