Subject: Update on COVID-19 Training and Daily Wellness Checks
It seems incredible that it has been just over 100 days since we were last on campus together. We appreciate your strength and resilience throughout the work- and teach-from-home period caused by the pandemic. You are missed and we hope you continue to be well and in good health.
As we start to bring back more of our community, it is important that we do so in a thoughtful and safe manner. As announced in the recent Project Restart update, this includes the requirement for all faculty and staff, as well as students, to complete COVID-19 training and a daily wellness checker. Today, we want to share what this means for you.
For faculty and staff currently working on USC campuses
- We ask that you complete the COVID-19 training module in TrojanLearn and begin to use Trojan Check on a daily basis (when coming to campus) by no later than Friday, July 3, 2020.
- If you do not have access to a personal computing device to complete the training or the daily Trojan Check process, please reach out to your supervisors, HR Partners, or Deans of Faculty.
- Please note that Keck Medicine and Ostrow School of Dentistry are following previously established procedures as they have continued to see patients.
For faculty and staff not currently working on USC campuses
- As a reminder, faculty and staff should not return to campus for any reason unless advised to do so by your supervisor.
- Once you are asked to return to campus, you must complete the TrojanLearn training module and begin to complete the Trojan Check process starting on the first day you return.
- If you do not have access to a personal computing device to complete the training or the daily Trojan Check process, please reach out to your supervisors, HR Partners, or Deans of Faculty.
Completing the TrojanLearn training and daily Trojan Check process
To access the training, log in to TrojanLearn via the Employee Gateway and click on the Health, Hygiene and Safety Training links found on the TrojanLearn homepage (note that TrojanLearn modules require a flash-based browser). Then, complete one of the following modules:
- Staff: Health, Hygiene and Safety for Employees.
- Research Employees: Health, Hygiene and Safety for Research Employees.
- Faculty: If returning to campus before July 15, complete Health, Hygiene and Safety for Employees. If returning to campus on or after July 15, take Health, Hygiene and Safety for Faculty, an enhanced version of the employee training module that is currently in development and will address unique needs in the academic setting. Only one module must be completed to fulfill the training requirement.
Within one hour of completing the training module, you will have access to Trojan Check and can begin to complete the daily wellness checker each day that you are coming to campus. For information on how to access and use Trojan Check, please visit the Project Restart: Trojan Check Web App Go-Live. The page also contains information on Zoom training sessions available the week of June 29.
Next Steps
We are committed to doing all we can to maintain a safe and healthy workplace that is in accordance with public health and federal, state, and local directives. We want to remind you that while at any USC work site, including while walking through campus, taking breaks, or during meals:
- You are required to wear a face covering (unless alone in an office).
- You must maintain six feet of distance from others at all times.
- You must follow all safety and occupancy instructions and signage.
We must be more aware of the moments when we start to let our guard down, as that is when we put ourselves and each other at higher risk for contracting and spreading COVID-19. By following the proper health, hygiene, and safety procedures, we can protect our community together.
