2025 Annual Security & Fire Safety Report Notice of Availability

September 25, 2025

The safety of our students, faculty, and staff is central to providing a university environment where we can all thrive. Today, the USC Department of Public Safety posted the 2025 Annual Security and Fire Safety Report. This report is mandated by the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, a federal law that requires colleges and universities across the country to disclose information about crimes reported on campus and its surrounding areas. In order to promote awareness and safety, the Clery Act also requires the university to notify prospective students and employees of the availability of the report so they may request a copy of it. The report is available online. Individuals also may request a paper copy of the report by emailing the DPS Records Office at dpsrecords@dps.usc.edu.

This year, the report includes a section about hazing prevention and education in accordance with the Stop Campus Hazing Act, as well as a description of the university’s hazing policy.

In addition, the federal Drug-Free Schools and Communities Regulations require us to provide alcohol and drug information to all current students and employees. This report includes information about university alcohol and drug policies; federal, state, and local alcohol and other drug laws; and campus and community resources. It is also available online.

We are committed to the ONE USC Safety Vision, creating an environment where everyone feels safe, respected, and protected from being a crime victim.

We also are committed to our Unifying Values, which include open communication and well-being. The Clery report aligns with our commitment to these values by providing important information about resources, reporting, and steps USC takes to focus on the well-being of those in our campus community.

Together, as we look out for one another, our vibrant community of students, faculty, staff, and visitors will continue to flourish and be a safe and welcoming place.
