Supporting Our USC Community: New Resources for Navigating Challenging Times

July 29, 2025

Dear USC Faculty and Staff,

During this challenging period, we want to reaffirm USC’s commitment to your well-being, personally and professionally. In alignment with the university’s values and to support you during this time, the Office of Behavioral Health’s WorkWell Center is launching a new initiative for faculty and staff.

Introducing: Navigating Challenging Times
The WorkWell Center offers weekly virtual dialogue groups on Tuesdays at 12 p.m., which are designed to foster connection and promote collective resilience. Weekly dialogue sessions are open to all employees and will focus on real-time issues impacting our community, offering facilitated discussion and shared strategies for coping with change and uncertainty.

In addition to the weekly groups, WorkWell is standing up a five-part monthly webinar series beginning on August 20, 2025, to help employees foster resilience, manage stress, and build sustainable self-care practices.

This program was created in direct response to the challenges many of us are experiencing. Whether it’s adapting to organizational change, coping with uncertainty, or sustaining a sense of connection, Navigating Challenging Times provides practical tools, a supportive space, and expert facilitation.

As a reminder, other services available at WorkWell include:

  • Short-term confidential counseling and referral to therapy
  • Crisis and critical incident response for departments and teams
  • Consultations for leaders to promote a healthy workplace culture
  • Psycho-educational talks and health promotion programs
  • Special health and well-being initiatives, e.g. WalkUSC,  EatWell Bites

We urge you to explore the robust offerings by visiting workwell.usc.edu, emailing workwell@usc.edu, or calling (213) 821-0800.

Together, we can sustain a culture of care, connection, and compassion for all members of our Trojan Family.

Sincerely,

Steve Siegel,
Vice President for Behavioral Health in Health Affairs
