Subject: Mandated curfew for Los Angeles County

The California Department of Public Health has imposed an evening curfew for all counties in Tier 1 (purple tier) including Los Angeles County. The state now prohibits most nonessential activity outside of the home between 10:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. This order is effective starting at 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 21, and stays in effect until 5:00 a.m. on December 21, 2020.

We are directing our community to follow the state’s guidelines around this limited stay-at-home order in order to reduce the increased transmission we are currently seeing in Los Angeles County and elsewhere in the state and country.

Follow the University’s guidance issued on 11/16 regarding holiday and winter break plans, including testing and travel.

Stay safe and stay well.
