6/29: Updates regarding mask usage and compliance with university vaccination policy

In-person activities:

On Wednesday, June 30, some in person classes will begin during our second summer session. We continue to plan for a full return to in-person activities in the fall, with undergraduates returning in mid-August and most classes starting Aug. 23.

Some employees will resume some form of in-person work before the fall semester. Each school and department is creating a plan that will determine when, where and how employees will work during the coming year.

Masks:

Masks are no longer required if you are fully vaccinated and have submitted your vaccination record to the MySHR system; masks are still required on transit, in health care settings and in other select environments (including all Keck Medicine of USC facilities and USC shuttle buses).

If you are not vaccinated, you must wear a mask indoors at all USC facilities and continue regular COVID-19 testing.

Required compliance with USC policy:

Compliance with the university’s COVID-19 vaccine policy is mandatory, and you are required to update your vaccination status in MySHR by July 15.

After Aug. 1, only vaccination exemptions for recognized and approved medical or religious reasons will be accepted. If you plan to seek such an exemption, fill out the appropriate religious or medical exemption form and submit it to MySHR and allow 14 days for your request to be reviewed.
