Fellow Trojans,
Beginning Monday, May 3, those of you accessing our University Park Campus will notice a number of changes. The perimeter access controls the university put in place at the outset of the pandemic are being removed.
However, CARE Crew personnel will remain in ambassadorial tents throughout campus for the time being, providing information as well as reminders to physically distance and wear face coverings.
Although your Trojan Check will not be verified when you access the perimeter, it is imperative that students, faculty, and staff continue to complete Trojan Check daily whenever accessing campus. Trojan Check continues to be one of the most important tools we have to ensure the health and safety of our campus community.
Like a number of buildings on our Health Sciences Campus, access to some buildings on our University Park Campus will require building-level Trojan Check compliance. If you work or study in a building that will enforce building-level compliance, you will be notified in a separate communication.
As announced earlier this week, students, faculty, and staff who are fully vaccinated will no longer be required to participate in surveillance testing (Pop Testing) to be compliant with Trojan Check. Those who are not fully vaccinated, including those who submit personal declinations, will be required to continue testing at current intervals: once per week for faculty, staff, and graduate students; and twice weekly for undergraduate students. (Note: declinations forms are no longer accepted, as of revised university policy dated June 29)
The health and safety of our campus community is a shared responsibility. The fact that cases continue to decline in Los Angeles has enabled us to begin returning to a sense of normality. At the same time, it remains imperative that we continue taking every necessary step to ensure that we remain on this positive trajectory.
Thank you for doing your part. Fight On!
