1/15: COVID-19 Pop Testing 3.0 Update

January 15, 2021

Dear USC Faculty and Students and University Staff:

As we close out the first week of COVID-19 Pop Testing 3.0, nearly 10,000 tests have been processed for members of our university community. We are heartened by the turnout, and importantly have identified positive cases (a number of them asymptomatic), contact traced, and isolated individuals from further transmission in the community. High-risk and low-risk contacts are contacted about potential exposures, and general notifications are distributed via email to building lists and academic contact lists; and posted through the coronavirus.usc.edu website.

TROJAN CHECK CLEARANCE

To ease the transition into Trojan Check, a grace period has been extended to Friday, January 22. You have until this date to complete flu compliance, testing compliance, and “Hygiene Health and Safety” requirements necessary for valid Trojan Check. For the HSC campus, Please see the HSC building list for additional details on where Trojan Check is required.

TESTING APPOINTMENTS

If you do not see an appointment for the day of your choosing, please select “show all locations” for appointments at alternate locations. Testing appointments are added on a rolling basis.

Pre-appointment preparation—do not brush your teeth, drink (including water), eat, smoke or vape for 30 minutes prior to sample collection, in order for the sample to be valid.

FLU

For students: Flu vaccination clinics are available this weekend: Sat. 9 AM – 1PM; Sun. 8 AM – 12 Noon; Monday 8AM – 12 Noon.

Reminder for faculty and university employees: If you are unable to obtain your flu immunization documentation, you may submit a flu attestation form for the 2020-2021 season.

Please review instructions for uploading documentation to MySHR (the secure health records portal). If you obtained your vaccination through Keck Medicine of USC you must still complete this process. Individuals will see the uploaded document in MySHR as “in review.” This does not affect the record of completion.
