Involvement Opportunities for Students
The Asian Pacific American Student Services (APASS) strives to provide a space for social engagement, education, and a sense of belonging for all students through celebrating the Asian American and Pacific Islander culture and heritage. We offer a center for community building and programs to promote reflection and growth.
At the Center for Black Cultural and Student Affairs (CBCSA), the primary goal of the department has been the support of students as they matriculate through the Trojan experience toward graduation, while maintaining a holistic environment that students can develop academically, culturally, professionally and socially.
The First Generation Plus Success Center (FG+SC) aims to create a culture of belonging and inclusion that will facilitate the transition of USC first-generation, undocumented, former foster youth, and transfer students into college life.
The Office of International Services (OIS) supports international students and scholars as they strive to achieve their educational, professional, and personal objectives. OIS is a resource center that provides advising, information, and opportunities for involvement to help members of the USC international community make the most of their USC experience.
The Latinx Chicanx Center for Advocacy and Student Affairs (La CASA) strives to educate the campus about Latinx identity and the culture represented within the community by offering programs and services that focus on intersectionality.
The mission of the LGBTQ+SC is to provide support, education, advocacy, and community for all undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Southern California with an emphasis on students across the spectrum of gender and sexuality.
Student Activities
The Daily Trojan is the University of Southern California’s student newspaper. Over the course of its history the paper has served as the primary source of news and information for the USC campus readership. It has also been recognized for continuously and consistently providing an atmosphere of free, responsible discussion and intellectual exploration of USC issues.
Fraternity & Sorority Leadership Development strives to promote the holistic development students through a values-based fraternity and sorority experience; by cultivating an inclusive community that emphasizes well-being, belonging, leadership, and fraternal excellence.
Late Night ‘SC is a series of free late-night programs offered to all USC students. These events are a great way to meet fellow students and be involved with the campus. Examples of events include Paint Night, Bowling Nights, Game Nights, Trips to the Pantages Theatre, and Late Night ‘SC Roller rink.
Campus Activities’ mission is to build community and foster leadership development through co-curricular opportunities that enhance the Trojan experience.
USC Recreational Sports strives to develop a positive and welcoming environment that fosters healthy lifestyles and campus involvement. Our programs, facilities, and events are designed to enhance the personal development of all students, staff/faculty, alumni, and guests.
RSOs are student-led groups created by and for students around shared interests, identities, or goals. USC has more than 800 student organizations, which are responsible for many of the programs and events held on campus, including concerts, lectures, special events, spirit rallies, cultural and social events, and conferences.
Comprising of the Trojan Marching Band (TMB), USC Song Leaders, USC Spirit Leaders, and the Trojans’ mascot Traveler, The Spirit of Troy is the energetic soul of the University of Southern California, providing the Trojan Family with music, dance, cheer, and esprit de corps.
Student Leadership
The mission of is the Graduate Student Government (GSG) is to enhance the USC graduate and professional student experience by serving as the face of the student body. To accomplish this, GSG is responsible for managing student resources efficiently, providing a voice for the student community, building a community that fosters interdisciplinary exchanges, and informing students about their rights, resources, and opportunities.
USC’s Undergraduate Student Government (USG) is the official governing body of nearly 20,000+ undergraduates at USC. It exists to represent the interests of the students to the administration on campus issues through an extensive programming, committee, and advocacy structure.
Student Services
The Office of Student Accessibility Services team is committed to serving the USC community through ensuring equal access, removing disability-related obstacles, supporting civil rights, and increasing education and awareness on behalf of students with disabilities.
Deciding on a major, exploring career options, seeking a job or internship, or looking for professional networks? The USC Career Center is committed to helping students achieve their professional goals. From resume review and career advising services to online networking and targeted job search resources, the Career Center offer robust tools that help power the Trojan Network and identify potential employers and industry trends.
The Office of Hazing Prevention was established to serve as a campus resource to manage university-wide hazing prevention education and services for communities such as fraternities and sororities, recognized student organizations, club sports, and the Trojan Marching Band.
The mission of the Kortschak Center for Learning and Creativity (KCLC) is to apply and engage in research and training to serve individuals with diverse learning needs and to empower students to reach their full academic and creative potential. KCLC offers outreach, programming, and individual coaching services to USC undergraduates and departments to promote a campus-wide understanding of learning differences and their potential to facilitate creativity and academic excellence.
The Office of Community Expectations works to provide preventative education regarding student behavior policies to students and Recognized Student Organizations. This office works together with other key members of the university community including staff, faculty, parents, and alumni to implement the university’s Unifying Values as it relates to students and community expectations.
The Office for Residential Education fosters the holistic development of members within the USC residential community. We are committed to providing purposefully inclusive communities that create opportunities for personal and academic success in collaboration with members of the Trojan Family.
The Student Basic Needs department fosters a culture of holistic well-being by helping to eliminate life barriers, such as food, housing, and economic injustice, that may jeopardize student academic and personal success. We support students by developing initiatives, streamlining communication with campus partners, and connecting students to campus and community resources.
USC Student Equity and Inclusion Programs (SEIP) is a department within USC Student Life dedicated to enhancing students’ sense of belonging, community, and well-being. Grounded in the belief that You Belong at USC, SCC creates environments where students can engage in campus life, build supportive relationships, and grow throughout their university experience.
The USC Veterans Resource Center empowers Military, Veteran, and Military-Connected Students as they transition to life at USC by providing resources that encourage a sense of belonging, opportunities for personal and professional development, and avenues for academic success.
Care and Advocacy
Campus Support and Intervention connects with members of the USC community when they need support in achieving their academic, professional, and/or personal goals. We can provide consultation, in person, by Zoom, or over the phone, to learn more about your individual situation so we can provide guidance and help you connect with relevant campus and community resources.
Counseling and Mental Health of USC Student Health provides clinical mental health services to students, including embedded counselors at SEIP cultural centers and academic schools. For connection to counseling, advice nurse, confidential advocates, and help with other urgent health matters call our 24/7 number: 213-740-9355 (WELL).
Relationship and Sexual Violence Prevention and Services is a Counseling and Mental Health Services unit within USC Student Health, Keck Medicine of USC. All mental health providers are clinical faculty in the Department of Psychiatry and the Behavioral Sciences of the Keck School of Medicine of USC.
USC Trojans Care 4 Trojans (TC4T) is an initiative within the Office of Campus Wellbeing and Crisis Intervention that empowers USC students, faculty and staff to take action when they are concerned about a fellow Trojan challenged with personal difficulties. This private and anonymous request form provides an opportunity for Trojans to help a member of our Trojan Family.
Need help with a university-related concern, conflict, or tough situation? The USC Ombuds Office is here to listen, provide guidance, and keep it confidential. The Ombuds office is available to the USC community, offering support, exploring options, and providing resources to help you navigate through your challenges.
The Office of Religious Life provides confidential pastoral care and spiritual counseling for USC students, faculty, and staff. At the Office of Religious Life, we have almost 50 religious directors on staff representing all the major world religions, enabling us to provide pastoral care and spiritual counseling across faiths and denominations. We also work closely with the Student Counseling Center, the Student Health Center, and the Center for Academic Support in order to offer holistic approaches to counseling and support.
